UKFPO publishes first Foundation Programme Annual Report

The UKFPO recently published the Foundation Programme Annual Report 2009; bringing together information from foundation schools across the UK. This information has never previously been available at a national level. The report contains a range of information about:
- foundation school structures
- recruitment to the Foundation Programme
- the foundation learning environment
- progression and outcomes for F1 and F2 doctors.
The report has been developed through discussions with foundation schools, and with input from the four UK health departments and the GMC. The information contained in the report was provided by the foundation schools. The report was issued to the four UK health departments and other key stakeholders in December 2009 and it is anticipated that it will be used to influence the future development of the Foundation Programme. The report will be published annually, with the 2010 edition expected to be available in November.
