UKFPO confirms final numbers for FP2012 oversubscription
Published: 30/11/2011
Following the UKFPO’s recent announcement that the Foundation Programme commencing in August 2012 is oversubscribed, the UKFPO is now able to confirm that there are 81 more applicants than places currently available.
All fully eligible applicants will now be ranked in score order and the top 7089 will be allocated to a particular foundation school on 8 December 2011. The remaining 81 applicants will be placed on the reserve list. Reserve list allocations will take place on the dates specified in the FP 2012 Applicant’s Handbook.
Professor Derek Gallen, UKFPO National Director, said:
“With only 81 applicants on the reserve list, I am confident that all applicants will be allocated to a foundation school before the Foundation Programme commences next summer, with the majority being placed by the end of March 2012. This is very good news for applicants.”
Those applicants who are placed on the reserve list will receive support from their local medical school and will be kept fully informed regarding when subsequent allocations will take place.
