UKFPO Careers Conference Success

.UKFPO recently hosted a highly successful conference looking at delivering effective careers advice to medical students and foundation doctors.
Entitled Careers Advice for Trainees Recruitment 2009, it was attended by over 120 undergraduate and postgraduate careers advisors, clinical tutors and senior clinicians with responsibility for advising medical students and foundation doctors on their future careers. 
Its purpose was to provide information to advisors on
- Providing consistent careers advice from medical school through Foundation School and beyond.
- The recruitment process for Foundation Programme 2009,
- The recruitment process for specialty training for 2009,
The future needs of the workforce and realistic careers aspirations. 
Speakers included senior officials from the MMC team at the Department of Health, careers advisors and representatives from the UK Foundation Programme Office team.
The conference took place at the Holiday Inn Regents Park, London on Friday 5 September 2008.
