UKFPO Applies for a Tier 4 Sponsorship License

Published: 01/01/2008

The UK Borders Agency agreed following a recent meeting, that the UK Foundation Programme Office could apply to become a Tier 4 Sponsor.

If granted the sponsorship license, this means that the UKFPO would be in a position to act as sponsor to all non-EEA graduates of UK medical schools who require a Tier 4 permit to work and train in the Foundation Programme.

In anticipation of the license being granted, we are asking all those affected to complete an online form by 1 July 2009 in order that we may validate the data and issue visa sponsorship letters on 6 July 2009.

For more information on the Tier 4 application process, please check the UK Borders Agency website at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk

The UK Borders Agency has indicated that they will process applications received by 13 July in time for the August start date.

We are aware that this timescale is extremely tight, which is why we are proceeding with preparations in advance of final approval from the UKBA.

We will be in touch with the doctors who register their details on the UKFPO website’s Tier 4 sponsorship information page with further information as soon as we can.
