"Medical students looking for academic foundation programmes can now find them online," Professor Derek Gallen, National Director of the UK Foundation Programme Office (UKFPO) announced today. "For the first time, all the information on the number of vacancies, application dates and interview dates, along with links to the academic sections of foundation school websites are all in one place."

This new Academic Programmes section of the UKFPO website was developed not only to provide information on applying to academic foundation programmes, but to provide further information about careers in academic medicine, from foundation programmes through to senior academic clinical posts.

Dr Stuart Carney, Special Advisor to the UKFPO said "This new area of the website was developed in response to requests from medical students. We look forward to hearing feedback and will strive to continue improving the website based on the suggestions of the users."
