Official Statement from the UKFPO regarding applicants to the National Allocation Process 2011 without the right to work in the UK
It is with regret that the UKFPO has withdrawn all applications to the Foundation Programme 2011 made by applicants without the right to work in the UK and has also withdrawn allocations which were offered to 14 specific applicants on 15 June 2011. It has come to our attention that employing organisations in the UK were unable to meet the requirements of UK immigration legislation in relation to offering Foundation Programme posts to applicants without the right to work in the UK. The UKFPO has worked with the UK Border Agency and its legal advisors in order to find an alternative solution to enable the applicants to take up the allocations and to work in the UK. Options considered include a 'milkround' process and re-advertising vacant posts. However, on this occasion a solution is not available which complies with UK immigration legislation and falls within the confines of a national allocation process. In the circumstances, the UKFPO wishes to offer its sincere apologies to those applicants who have been affected by this issue and to assure all applicants that changes will be made to the recruitment process in order to ensure that similar issues do not affect future recruitment rounds.
